Common Questions

Implementation timelines depend on the complexity of your product set and distribution channels. A single-product direct-to-consumer deployment can go live in 16–20 weeks. Multi-product rollouts involving adviser portals, telesales, and bancassurance integrations typically take 5–7 months. All deployments include a dedicated test and UAT environment prior to production go-live.
iUnderwrite is a fully managed SaaS platform hosted on AWS. We manage all infrastructure, patching, scaling, and monitoring on your behalf. Every deployment includes separate test, UAT, and production environments as standard. Self-hosted or on-premise deployments are not currently offered.
Yes — your rules are your intellectual property. Your underwriting team can import and manage rule sets directly via spreadsheet upload through the administration portal, with no developer involvement required. We also provide reinsurance-backed starter rule sets as a baseline if you are building from scratch or entering a new market.
Each insurer operates as an independent tenant with complete data isolation, their own branding, products, underwriting rules, pricing, and document templates. Tenants share the underlying infrastructure but cannot access each other's data. You can run multiple brands (white labels) under a single tenancy, or provision separate tenancies per insurer — whichever model suits your distribution structure.
Out-of-the-box integrations include AWS services (S3, SES, CloudWatch, Cognito, QuickSight), payment gateways for direct debit and card collection, SMS notifications via Twilio, and identity / authentication via OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect. The platform also includes configurable remote system connectors for policy administration, CRM, and data warehouse integration via REST API.
iUnderwrite undergoes an independent penetration test annually, conducted by a CREST-certified provider. Tests cover the application layer, API surface, and underlying AWS infrastructure. Findings are remediated on a risk-prioritised basis and a summary report is available to clients under NDA. In addition, the platform runs continuous automated vulnerability scanning across all dependencies and container images, and AWS WAF rules are reviewed and updated on an ongoing basis.
Yes — we maintain an active product roadmap covering the next 12–18 months. Clients are invited to roadmap briefings where upcoming features are previewed and feedback is gathered. Enhancement requests can be submitted at any time, and high-demand requests are prioritised into scheduled releases. Clients also have the option to co-fund specific features where there is a strong commercial case.
All tenant data is stored within the AWS region nominated at onboarding — currently ap-southeast-2 (Sydney) for Australian clients and New Zealand clients, satisfying local data residency obligations. No customer data is replicated outside the nominated region except for disaster-recovery backups, which are encrypted and stored in a secondary AWS region within the same geography. Alternative region deployments can be discussed for specific regulatory requirements.
Pricing is structured as a one-off implementation fee covering configuration, onboarding, and go-live support, plus a monthly licence fee composed of a base fee, optional features and premium add-ons. Volume-based arrangements are available for high-throughput deployments. Full pricing details are provided as part of the proposal following your discovery call.
All clients receive a dedicated account manager and access to our support portal for logging and tracking issues. Production SLAs cover 99.9% monthly uptime with P1 incident response within one business hour. Planned maintenance windows are scheduled outside peak business hours with advance notice. Optional extended support packages are available for clients requiring after-hours cover or dedicated support engineering capacity.
